The United States’ most famous experiment in wolf ecology began in Yellowstone National Park, which became synonymous with wolf tourism in 1995 when a bold reintroduction program used Canadian wolves to repopulate the sprawling park boundaries straddling Wyoming and Montana. Efforts were further bolstered by the Nez Perce Tribe in central Idaho, which was the first Native American nation to officially assist with an endangered species recovery program.
