The tale of Harriet Tubman, a former slave who guided hundreds of people out of bondage in the American South, is set to inspire an entirely new generation. Tubman’s image is under consideration to adorn a new 20-dollar bill, which would make her the first African American to grace the country’s currency. Her titanic deeds, which included becoming a Union Army spy and directing covert missions to rescue slaves, comes into sharp focus along the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Byway. Established in 2014, the byway stretches 120 miles from southern Maryland to Philadelphia and functions as a compact version of the Civil Rights Trail, which weaves through historic sites across the South
