Partnership with Legit Productions on #AMERICART2019 documentary


July 7, 2019 – San Francisco – The U.S. Cultural & Heritage Marketing Council (USCHMC) announces an exciting collaboration with Legit Productions, the New York City based documentary films productions company, for the #Americart2019 project.

Co-produced in collaboration with select destination marketing organizations, #Americart2019 brings a new narrative to the relationship of Americans and global visitors alike with U.S. art and culture. The production team will visit the partner cities and counties and take the time to explore their eclectic arts and culture scene: Montgomery County(MD), Franklin (TN), Pueblo (CO), Glenwood Springs (CO), Wichita (KS), McPherson (KS), Elko (NV), Reno Tahoe (NV), Baker County (OR)  and Sonoma County (CA) have all joined the project.

“The partnership with Legit Productions provides a unique platform to amplify the critical importance that the arts, artisans and cultural experiences contribute to the fabric of our individual communities throughout the United States. And working in tandem with the Legit Productions CEO and Executive Producer Pierre Gervois,  enables the #Americart2019 project to build critical mass for national and international consumer engagement.” said Richard W. Peterson, President & CEO of USCHMC.

“Our collective focus is to bring a greater voice to the diverse stories of artists and their body of work from coast to coast. A message that will resonate with audiences and consumers from around the globe.” said Peterson.  “The perspectives may be uniquely American, but the message is universal.”

#Americart2019 will be commence production in August 2019. The documentary film and the six-episode series will be released in 2020 for cable television and streaming platforms in the U.S. and internationally. #Americart2019 is presented by WhistlePig Rye Whiskey, an independent distillery in Vermont producing small batches of handcrafted Rye Whiskey.
