The fourth annual ONE Travel Conference for Shopping, Dining and Cultural Tourism, which incorporates the 17th annual Shop America Tourism Conference, will be held January 28-30, 2014 at the new Radisson Blu Hotel at Mall of America in Bloomington Minnesota.
Presented by Shop America Alliance and the US Cultural & Heritage Tourism Marketing Council, the ONE Travel Conference features two and a half days of executive level idea exchange and tourism business development opportunities. Conference sponsors include Mall of America, Bloomington MN CVB, CenterCal Properties and Mandala Research.
Industry leaders will provide inspirational presentations. The latest research on tourism trends will be presented with focus on the top three travel activities as tracked by the US Department of Commerce, Office of Travel & Tourism Industries: Shopping, Dining and Cultural/Heritage. Hundreds of delegates from around the world have participated in prior ONE Travel Conferences and have consistently praised the exceptional content, contacts and quality of the event.
One Travel Conference Registration will open on September 1 at ONEtravelconference.com. Early registration fee is $595 through September 30. Regular registration is $695 October 1 through January 10. Late registration is $795 after January 10. Radisson Blu is offering a special ONE Travel Conference rate of $159 per night, single or double, subject to availability.
“The 2013 ONE Travel Conference focused on Global Tourism Success and was very well received by all involved,” said Rosemary McCormick, President of Shop America Alliance and co-producer of the ONE Travel Conference. “We look forward to building on that theme with MEGA ideas and new opportunities, which is most appropriate as our host Mall of America is the nation’s largest retail/entertainment destination.”
“The ONE Travel Conference 2014 venue is Bloomington’s luxurious new Radisson Blu Hotel connected directly to Mall of America via skyway,” notes Bonnie Carlson, CEO of Bloomington MN CVB. “The Bloomington, Minneapolis and St. Paul area offer many rich cultural venues and of course the nation’s best shopping at Mall of America!”
Doug Killian, Senior Director International Tourism at Mall of America, said, “We look forward to hosting the ONE Travel Conference. Be advised that with comp shuttle service from the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport just minutes away to the Radisson Blu, and more than 525 shopping, dining and entertainment venues all under one roof at Mall of America, guests may not have the opportunity to actually experience our beautiful Minnesota winter weather.”
“Delegates at the ONE Travel Conference include destination marketing organizations (DMOs), shopping, dining and cultural-heritage leaders along with international tourism partners,” stated Sheila Armstrong, President of the US Cultural & Heritage Tourism Marketing Council and co-producer of the ONE Travel Conference. “Our goal is to continue to unify these powerful travel industry segments so we speak with ONE voice on the importance of promoting the top travel experiences. They are key economic drivers and job providers. Brand USA reports that one new job is generated for every 33 international arrivals.”
SASI-ONE Awards (SASI = Shop America Salutes Innovation) for shopping and cultural tourism marketing excellence will once again be presented during the ONE Travel Conference at a special awards breakfast ceremony. Entry information will be available beginning in September at onetravelconfence.com.
